Research Associates and PhD students participate in the ROOTS Young Academy.

The ROOTS Young Academy brings together young experts from an array of disciplines, which support ROOTS research with innovative research ideas. The Young Academy provides young researchers with excellent conditions for a successful career and personal development.

The Cluster of Excellence ROOTS invites applications for a position asResearch Assistant (Postdoctoral Researcher) (m/f/d) to begin on April 1st, 2021 til the 31th of december 2025.

The regular weekly working time is that of a full-time employee (currently 38.7 hours). If the legal requirements under collective bargaining law are met, they will be classified in pay group 13 TV-L.

The scope of duties includes participation in research projects of the chair and in the Cluster of Excellence ROOTS and the willingness to participate in excavations. Within the scope of the activity opportunity is given to own scientific work and acquisition of further scientific qualification.

Conditions of employment
The prerequisite for employment is a qualified doctorate in the field of Prehistory and Early History/Prehistoric Archaeology or comparable. A focus of previous work should be on the Neolithic or Bronze Age periods. Sound knowledge of Pre- and Protohistory, especially the Neolithic or Bronze Age in Europe, or Western Eurasia, as well as sound knowledge of theoretical and methodological issues and spatial statistics are required.

We also support the application of people with a foreign background.
